Here are characters designs for The Gutbomb short I directed. They’re inspired by some road movies such as Convoy, Smokey and the Bandit and Raising Arizona among others.
Here are some layouts from my latest short film project "The Gutbomb".
The short will be filled with cameo appearances by iconic road movie characters, which wont affect the story so much as be candy for the viewer. In this particular layout, I first designed a generic trucker, but was unhappy with the design. I had been meaning to incorporate this baddie from "Over The Top" somewhere, and when redrawing this Layout, I decided to use him. Im pretty happy with how this scene is taking shape overall. I wanted to show some background art. Some finishes for the diner scene. the wide shot with the background characters.

After months of work on the gutbomb, this was the last piece of art added. The menu prop was drawn in pen and ink by joe Jurewicz and I colored it it photoshop. I composited the element in aftereffects.
